She was licensed in most states before her 21st birthday.  Five years ago, Ashley joined the Grand General team, and has worked her way to becoming our flood insurance expert.  Ashley has a large extended family with whom she loves to spend time. With several young cousins, nephews and a niece, she has plenty of inspiration to tell, write and illustrate children’s stories.  Though she is not yet published, she looks forward to the day she will be.  Ashley loves music and for two years was part of a singing quartet with some of her best friends from school.  She also performs and does costuming with the Allendale Civic Theatre.  She loves history, in particular ancient Egyptian history.  She can even read and write some hieroglyphics.  Ashley has some unusual hobbies, including making her own glass beads.  She is an avid reader and can read a 1000 page book in an hour and up to 10 books at once.

He joined Grand General in January 1998 after being lured away from retail hardware management by his cousin, John Topp, who was with the agency at the time. Bill enjoys many hobbies, such as reading, fishing, biking and softball, but has little time for them as he and his wife Debi are kept plenty busy by their five children.

She has been a part of the Grand General “family” since 1999, helping out with many different aspects of the agency. In her spare time she likes to tap dance and knit. She also runs “mom’s taxi service” for her teenage daughter.

Originally from Florida, Dan has lived in the Grand Rapids area since 1991. A former Military Policeman in the U.S. Army, he enjoys all things pertaining to any era of military history. His other interests include watching films and supporting all of the Michigan professional sports teams.

Julie is an "Army Brat" who spent her youth abroad. She came to West Michigan to attend Calvin College, where she met her husband, Jeff. She has been married for over 20 years. After earning her degree, their family grew and includes two teenaged daughters. Julie has served in our mail and supply department for over 7 years where she job-shares with Dawn. Julie's interests include co-leading a local Bible Study class, visiting museums and reading-especially mysteries!

She supervised the support staff at Citizens Insurance west MI claims branches for several years. Marti has been the accountant for Grand General since 1998. She handles everything from monthly statements for the agencies and companies that we work with, to payroll and company financial statements. She enjoys volunteering at her daughter's school, teaching Sunday School and reading.

Nancy has 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. We knew she was great and now she has the title! He works in the processing, marketing and licensing areas of the agency. Rob is approaching his last semesters at Grand Valley State University as a math major with aspirations of becoming an actuary. During the warmer months of the year he enjoys anything outdoors, but mostly golf, soccer, slow pitch softball and flag football.
